Much like his brothers and sisters at arms Charlie Van Rensselaer, Whiskey Van Rensselaer and Lovecraft Maldonado, [redacted] Valdis was raised in the Templar Order of the Vatican since birth and after his time as a Foundling he Graduated into the Order of the Scribes taking on the name Byron and memorizing his works accordingly. Growing up with the Twins, Byron became especially close with both of them, Whiskey more so than Charlie and the pair enjoyed tossing assumptions to the wind when they ended up in the opposite roles most assumed they would have. Whiskey becoming a Knight and Byron a Scribe was unexpected to all but those who actually knew them. Or more accurately, just Charlie.
Byron's possession by Beleth happened shortly before his entering the clergy, in fact the reason for joining the cloth was the machinations of both the Earthbound and those whose influence caused his possession in the first place. Shortly after becoming possessed by Beleth was he told of Whiskey's own possession by a legion of Earthbound with the leader being [redacted]. Though that ally was taken away from Beleth by Charlie's intervention of an exorcism and possession of both himself and Whiskey in exchange with a pair of Fallen.
Byron himself did not spend most of his possession aware, being oppressed by Beleth near into complete broken helplessness. The few moments where he was able to maintain enough sense of self were when he was most needed, after the Fall especially to try and keep Whiskey alive and sane during her capture.
After time was reset to 2019, it is unknown whether or not Byron holds memories of the Apocalypse.
During 2019 at the charity event cohosted with Tobias Wren on behalf of the Tulane Medical Center and major Masquerade breach, all those who took part in the toast were infected by the Wyrm and the building was put under quarantine. But before the quarantine sealed off the building, the party managed to distract him long enough for Oliver and Cyrus to drug Beleth's drink. After losing consciousness, Byron Valdis was able to regain control and make his first interaction with the party suggesting that they tie him up 'just in case he comes back'. After which both Byron and Beleth were held captive and watched over by Lovecraft, Lucifer, and Whiskey at Oliver's request.
After the exorcism at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, Beleth has been cast out of Byron Valdis and is presumably returned to the Pit. Byron was possessed by a Fallen; the informant in the heavens that was funneling information down to Lucifer and Whiskey as to what was going on in particular with the whereabouts of the Metatron as well as any information about Wayward hunters.
